With regard to paragraphs 10 and 29 of Mr Chadwick's report of the 19th February one of the Pumping Engines referred to was ordered in January; the other was, on Mr Chadwick's recommendation, not ordered at the same time as he wished to arrange certain details, but we expect to be able to give the order at once.

5. In paragraph 28 of his report Mr Chadwick suggests that the work of introducing rider-mains might be taken in hand at once. If any action is required on our part as to this we shall doubtless receive instructions.
